Setup Fee for custom promo and engraving orders
Some custom jobs need time at the computer and the machine before the first piece is made: cleaning up a logo, laying out names on a template, building a jig, or running a test piece on the laser. The setup fee covers that work in 15 minute units. Add one unit for each 15 minutes your job needs.
How it is priced
- $15.00 per 15 minute unit (our published art and setup rate of $60 per hour, 15 minute minimum)
- Most single logo jobs need one unit
- We tell you on your proof or quote how many units your job needs before anything is made
When you need it
- Your artwork is not print or engrave ready (low resolution, no vector file, text to retype)
- Each piece carries a different name or number
- The item needs a custom fixture to hold it on the machine

Questions
Is the setup fee charged per piece?
No. It is charged per job, by the time the setup takes.
Do I pay it again on a reorder?
If we can reuse your approved file and setup as is, we tell you on the quote. Changes to the art or layout are billed as new setup time.
Can I skip it?
Send a print or engrave ready vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) and many jobs need no setup time.
