Why MAD Monkey
The Leader in Custom DTF Transfers in DFW
We print every transfer in-house on commercial-grade DTF systems with calibrated color profiles and rigorous QC. Here's what that means for your order.
100% Quality Guarantee
Every gang sheet is press-tested and color-checked before it ships. If a transfer fails to apply correctly with proper heat, time, and pressure, we reprint it — no questions, no fees.
Truly No Minimums
Order one 4″ logo or a thousand. Pricing scales smoothly with size and quantity — no surprise minimum-order fees, no “starting at” bait pricing. The price you see is the price you pay.
Super-Fast Shipping
Orders placed before 2 PM CST ship the same business day. Local DFW customers can pick up in person from our 24/7 lockers — perfect for last-minute jobs, weekend events, and rush orders.
100+ Wash Durability
Our DTF transfers withstand 100+ wash cycles without cracking, fading, or peeling when applied per spec. Independent wash testing on cotton, poly blends, and tri-blends confirms it — this isn't a marketing claim, it's a process.
How DTF Works
From File to Finished Garment in 4 Steps
DTF (direct-to-film) transfers are the fastest, most flexible way to put full-color art on apparel. No screens. No weeding. No color limits.
Upload
Send us your art — PNG, SVG, AI, PSD, or PDF at 300 DPI. Our prepress team checks color, transparency, and sizing free of charge before printing.
We print your design onto release film with CMYK + white ink, then bond it with thermo-adhesive TPU powder and cure in our commercial oven.
Press
Apply at 310°F with medium-firm pressure for 13 seconds. Peel hot or cold. Re-press for 10 seconds with a parchment cover for max wash durability.
Wear
Vivid color, soft hand, and fabric-stretch elasticity. Wait 24 hours before the first wash, turn inside out, cold water, mild detergent — then wear it for years.

What DFW Customers Say
Real Reviews from Real Print Buyers
“We switched from a national printer to MAD Monkey six months ago and the difference is night and day. Color is more consistent, the transfers feel softer, and I can pick up rush orders at midnight if I need to. Game changer for our event-tee business.”
Owner, DFW Event Apparel
“The wash durability is the real deal. I've had customer shirts come back after 2+ years of regular wear and the prints still look fresh. As a small Etsy seller, the no-minimum pricing means I can offer custom designs without inventory risk.”
Etsy seller, RoseGoldRiot
“I run a contract decoration shop. MAD Monkey's gang sheets save us 40% on small-run orders we used to send to a screen printer. Files are always print-ready, and their 2 PM same-day cutoff lets us promise next-day to our own customers.”
Print shop owner, Fort Worth
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Need to Know About DTF
What exactly is a DTF transfer, and how is it different from screen printing or HTV?
DTF stands for Direct-to-Film. We print your design with CMYK plus white ink onto a PET release film, bond it with TPU hot-melt adhesive powder, and cure it in an oven so it's ready to heat-press onto fabric. Unlike screen printing, there are no screens, no setup fees, and no color limits — you can have full photographic gradients in a one-piece order. Unlike heat transfer vinyl (HTV), there's no weeding, the print is much thinner and softer to the touch, and it stretches with the fabric instead of cracking. DTF is the most flexible decoration method on the market right now, and it works on almost any fabric.
How durable are MAD Monkey DTF transfers? Will they survive industrial laundering?
Our transfers are rated for 100+ wash cycles in standard home laundering without cracking, fading, or peel-up — provided they're applied to spec (310°F, 13 seconds, medium-firm pressure, with a 10-second re-press). Independent testing on cotton tees, 50/50 blends, tri-blends, and performance polyester all hit the 100+ wash threshold. For commercial/industrial laundering (high-heat dryers, harsh detergents, high-volume tumble), expect somewhat fewer cycles — we recommend a wash test on your specific equipment first. Always wait 24 hours after pressing before the first wash, turn garments inside out, and use cold water with a mild detergent for best longevity.
What temperature, time, and pressure should I use to apply a DTF transfer?
Press at 310°F (155°C) for 13 seconds with medium-firm pressure (roughly 40–60 psi on a clamshell press). Peel the film hot (3–5 seconds after pressing) or fully cold — both work and give slightly different finish profiles. After peeling, cover the print with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and re-press for 10 seconds to lock in the bond and reduce shine. If you're pressing onto a thick or textured fabric like a hoodie or canvas tote, pre-press the garment for 5 seconds to remove moisture before applying the transfer. These specs are printed on every order's packing slip.
What file formats and resolution do you need? Do you charge for art prep?
We accept PNG, SVG, AI, PSD, PDF, and JPG. PNG with a transparent background is our preferred format. Minimum resolution is 300 DPI at final print size; vector files (SVG, AI, PDF) scale infinitely and are always best for logos and type. For photographic art, send the highest-resolution source you have. We do not charge art fees, setup fees, or file-check fees. Our prepress team reviews every order before printing and will email you if there's a problem — low resolution, color profile issues, missing transparency, or sizing concerns. If your file needs heavier cleanup or vectorization, we'll quote that as an optional add-on before charging anything.
How fast can I get my transfers? Do you really ship same-day?
Yes — orders placed before 2 PM CST on a business day ship the same day via UPS, FedEx, or USPS. Orders placed after the 2 PM cutoff ship the next business day. Standard ground shipping covers most of Texas in 1–2 days and the rest of the continental US in 3–5 days. Need it faster? We offer overnight, 2-day, and weekend shipping at carrier rates. DFW-local customers get an even better option: 24/7 self-service locker pickup at our Dallas-Fort Worth facility — no waiting on shipping, no hours-of-operation worries, just walk up and grab your order whenever it's ready.
Can you match a specific Pantone or hex color?
Yes, with caveats. Our DTF process is CMYK + white ink, which means we can hit a very close match for most Pantone references and any RGB or hex code you provide. For brand-critical color work (a Coca-Cola red, a Tiffany blue), we recommend ordering a paid color test print first — for $5 we'll send a small swatch of your exact target color so you can confirm the match before committing to a full run. We also keep notes on file for repeat customers, so once we've dialed in your brand color we can hit it consistently across future orders. Just include the Pantone code or hex value in the order notes.
What fabrics work with DTF? Are there any I should avoid?
DTF works on a wider range of fabrics than almost any other decoration method — cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends, tri-blends, denim, canvas, fleece, performance/dri-fit fabrics, leather, satin, and even some nylons. The main fabrics to avoid are silicone-coated waterproof shells (the adhesive can't bond), extremely heat-sensitive synthetics that scorch below 310°F, and very loose-knit or open-weave fabrics where the transfer can't make full contact with the surface. If you're unsure about a specific garment, send us the brand and style number and we'll tell you whether it'll work — or send you a free test transfer so you can try it yourself.
What's the minimum order? Is there a setup fee for small runs?
There is no minimum order and no setup fee — ever. Order one 4″ logo or a thousand 11″ back prints, the per-piece price is what you see on the table above. Volume breaks at 10, 50, 100, 250, and 500 pieces apply automatically at checkout. For really high-volume orders (1,000+ pieces of the same design), reach out for custom contract pricing — we can typically beat the listed 500+ rate by 10–20% on long runs. Gang sheets (multiple designs on a single 22″-wide sheet) are billed per linear foot and are the best per-piece value for mixed-design orders.
