Enlightenment Home Care: from nowhere on page one to three #1 rankings
An Olympia, Washington home-care agency that started with zero of seven tracked keywords on Google page 1. Campaign period July 2022 to March 2023.
Invisible for every term that mattered
What the July 2022 baseline reports recorded before the campaign started.
| Tracked keyword, Olympia WA market | Google, July 2022 |
|---|---|
| Home Care Services | 23 |
| Personal Care Services | 31 |
| Home Care Assistance | 32 |
| Personal Care Provider | 60 |
| Home Health Care Services | 69 |
| Home Health Care | 78 |
| Residential Home Care | Not in top 100 |
- Zero of seven tracked keywords on Google page 1, and zero on page 2. Every target term sat outside the top 20 in the before-SEO ranking report, and one was not in the top 100 at all.
- An authority profile to match. The July 8, 2022 benchmark recorded 62 backlinks, 14 referring domains, Domain Authority 8, and Page Authority 17.
- A slow site on the device that matters. Mobile page speed scored 43 out of 100, against 95 on desktop.
- Home care is a trust-driven category. Families search locally, call two or three agencies, and stop. An agency that is not on page 1 is not in that conversation.
On-page rebuild, then relentless off-page work
The documented scope, July 2022 to March 2023.
- A page-by-page on-page rebuild. Titles, meta descriptions, H1s, image alt text, and schema were rewritten across the site and documented in before and after form in the monthly reports.
- Sustained off-page link building. 105 one-way links, 5 bookmarking sites, and 4 content pieces landed in month one alone, growing to 150 cumulative one-way links and 25 bookmarking sites by early 2023.
- Keyword tracking and monthly reporting. A tracked keyword set with Google and Bing position reports every month across the engagement, which is why this write-up can show the whole arc instead of one good screenshot.
- Everything above was delivered in house by MAD Monkey Media as an organic search program. Organic SEO is the work on record for this engagement, so it is the only work claimed here.
Page one on both engines by month eight
The March 2023 board, exactly as the monthly report recorded it.
| Tracked keyword, Olympia WA market | Google, March 2023 | Bing, March 2023 |
|---|---|---|
| Home Care Services | #1 | #4 |
| Home Health Care | #1 | #4 |
| Home Health Care Services | #1 | #6 |
| Residential Home Care | #6 | #1 |
| Private Home Health Care | #8 | #3 |
| Home Care Assistance | 13 | #1 |
| Home Health Care Agency | 16 | #7 |
Positions recorded March 4, 2023, roughly eight months into the campaign. Five of seven tracked terms held Google page 1, three of them at #1, and all seven held Bing page 1. The tracked keyword set was adjusted during the engagement, so this list is not a row-for-row match to the July 2022 list above. These are historical positions from that report, not current rankings.
The full arc, including the parts that stalled
Figures from the August 2022, January 2023, and March 2023 reports.
- The first month was not a slow start. In the August 2022 report, one term hit #1 on Google and all six others improved, by between 2 and 52 positions. Bing already had three of seven on page 1 at that point, and six of seven had moved.
- Traffic followed the positions. The January 2023 performance report recorded organic queries up 27% and returning visitors up 11%, with the single term "home care washington" driving 293 visits, about 21% of site traffic in that window.
- What did not happen. Two tracked terms, Home Care Assistance at 13 and Home Health Care Agency at 16, never reached Google page 1 inside the reporting window. We are not counting them as wins.
- Authority is slower than rankings. Raw backlinks grew nearly seven-fold and referring domains grew more than twelve-fold, yet Domain Authority moved only from 8 to 9 across the same period. Rankings and links move faster than third-party authority scores, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
- Scope note. Google Business Profile metrics, review counts, and booked-client numbers are not part of this record, so none are claimed. The reporting that exists covers rankings, links, and site traffic.
