How it works

How we run Google Ads, stage by stage

Google Ads rewards precise tracking and tight intent. Here is what each of our eight stages means inside a Google Ads account.

  1. 1

    Audit

Search terms report, match types, wasted spend, Quality Score, location settings and which conversion actions are really counted.

  2. 2

    Tracking: pixel and Conversions API

Google tag with enhanced conversions for leads, call tracking with a 60-second minimum, and offline conversion import from your CRM when possible.

  3. 3

    Offer

Match the search: an emergency search wants a phone number and an arrival window; a research search wants a guide or a price range.

  4. 4

    Creative

Responsive search ads with up to 15 headlines, sitelinks, call, location and image assets, and landing pages that repeat the search words.

  5. 5

    Launch

Themed ad groups by service and area, phrase and exact match first, a shared negative list and an ad schedule that fits your phones.

  6. 6

    A/B tests

Ad copy variants, landing page splits and bid strategy experiments, one change at a time.

  7. 7

    Optimization

Weekly search term mining, budget shifts between services and areas, and bid strategy moved to conversions once data allows.

  8. 8

    Reporting

Cost per qualified lead and cost per booked job by campaign, with searches that produced customers called out.

Budget levels

What your ad budget gets you

Google search clicks are priced by auction, so budgets go further in low-competition trades and towns. Here is what each level usually covers.

What each monthly ad budget can realistically buy
Monthly ad spendWhat it coversRough leads a month at typical Google lead costsBest fit
$500 a monthOne Search campaign on 5 to 15 high-intent keywords in a tight radius, with call and lead tracking.5 to 11Proving an offer before spending more. Often better as a one-time setup you run yourself.
$1,500 a monthSearch campaigns for your top 2 to 3 services, call assets, location assets and a negative keyword program.17 to 35A single-location local business that wants steady weekly leads.
$3,000 a monthFull Search build by service and area, a call-only or LSA test, and room for one Performance Max test.35 to 71Growing local businesses, multi-service companies and ecommerce stores with proven products.
$5,000+ a monthSearch, Performance Max or Shopping, YouTube remarketing and offline conversion import from your CRM.59 to 118Multi-location brands, franchises, B2B companies and stores scaling past one market.

Lead counts divide each budget by $42.15 to $84.20, the middle half of average Google search cost per lead across 23 industries in WordStream by LocaliQ Google Ads Benchmarks (2026; data Apr 1, 2025 to Mar 31, 2026). Your own cost per lead can sit outside this range.

Pricing

How our management fee works

Management is a flat monthly fee that covers ad spend up to a set level, plus a one-time setup for the audit, tracking fix and first creative. Above that spend level the fee grows with a small percentage of the extra spend, so you always know the number before you approve a bigger budget. Your ad spend goes on your own card, paid directly to the platform, never through us, and you own every account, pixel and audience. Ask for a quote and we send the exact figures in writing within 48 hours.

FAQ

Questions about Google Ads

If yours is not here, ask it in the form above and a strategist will answer.

How much should I spend on Google Ads?

It depends on how many people search for your services, what a click costs in your market, and what a customer is worth to you. We estimate a starting budget in your proposal and adjust it once real lead data comes in.

Should I use Performance Max?

Sometimes. It can work well for stores with good product feeds and for accounts with solid conversion data. For many local service businesses, well-built Search campaigns give more control, so we test it only where it fits.

Can you take over my existing account?

Yes. We audit it first, keep what is working, and restructure the rest. Keeping your account history is usually better than starting from scratch, and we document every change we make.

Why do my leads look good in Google Ads but not in real life?

Usually the tracking counts the wrong things, such as page views or duplicate form fills, or spam leads are slipping through. We fix the conversion definitions and, where possible, connect lead outcomes back to the ads.

How is Google Ads management priced?

Management is a custom quote based on account size and scope, offered month-to-month or on an annual contract. Ad spend is a separate budget agreed with you, and a one-time account audit can be scoped as a fixed-price project.

What does a Google Ads lead cost in my industry?

In 2026 published data the all-industry average was $66.69 per lead, from about $26.84 in the cheapest industry to $131.63 in the most expensive. Legal, home services and B2B usually sit at the high end because clicks cost more. The table above lists every industry with its source.

Should I run Google Local Services Ads too?

If you are a home service or professional service business in an eligible category, often yes. Local Services Ads charge per lead rather than per click and show above search ads. We help you set up and verify the profile, manage disputes for invalid leads and compare its cost per booked job against your search campaigns.

Do you build the landing pages?

Yes. Our web team builds and edits the pages your ads send people to, so the page repeats the search, loads fast on a phone and has a form and phone number above the fold.
