Description
Wood business cards are the cards people hold on to. Each one is cut from a thin sheet of real hardwood and laser engraved with your logo and details at our Dallas production shop. The engraving is burned into the wood, so it will not rub off, and every card carries its own grain.
Choose your wood, your finish, engraving on the front or on both sides, and your quantity. The price updates as you choose, so you see your total before you pay.
Why choose wood business cards
- Three hardwoods: Walnut, Maple and Cherry, each with natural grain
- Laser engraved, so your design is part of the card, not ink on top of it
- A digital proof before we engrave, and orders from 25 cards
- A natural material for brands with a handmade, outdoor or craft story
The three woods
| Walnut | Rich chocolate brown, the most luxurious look. Engraving reads as a deeper brown, elegant and subtle |
|---|---|
| Maple | Pale cream with a fine, even grain. The crispest, highest-contrast engraving and the best choice for small text and QR codes |
| Cherry | Warm reddish tone that darkens beautifully with age. Clear, warm contrast |

Wood vs metal vs paper
Paper is the lowest cost per card and prints in full color. Metal is the heaviest and most durable, with engraving or full color. Wood sits in between: warm, natural and memorable, at a price closer to a premium paper card than to metal. See the full side by side on our metal and premium business cards guide.
Frequently asked questions
Which wood should I choose?
Maple is pale and creamy, so engraving shows as a crisp dark brown with the strongest contrast. Walnut is the richest, darkest wood; the engraving reads as a deeper brown, elegant but softer in contrast. Cherry sits in between with a warm reddish tone that deepens with age. Every card shows its own grain, so no two are exactly alike.
Which finish should I choose?
Natural oil and wax is matte, feels like bare wood and brings out the grain. Clear satin is a thin protective coat with a soft sheen that resists fingerprints and light moisture a little better. Both are the same price.
How thick are the cards?
About 1.5 mm (1/16 in), roughly four times as thick as a standard paper business card, and still fits in a card holder and most wallets.
Can you print color on wood?
Not on this product. Laser engraving is one tone: the laser darkens the wood where your design goes. For color on a premium card, see our metal card options, which include UV full color printing.
What file should I send?
A vector PDF, AI or EPS of your logo engraves sharpest. A PNG or JPG at 600 dpi also works. We turn your logo into one engraved tone and show you exactly how it will look on your proof.
Do QR codes work on wood?
Yes, when they are at least 0.6 in square. Maple gives the most reliable scan. We test the code on your proof layout and tell you if it should be larger.
How long does it take?
Production time is 10 to 15 business days after you approve your proof. Shipping time is added and depends on the method you choose at checkout.
Can each card carry a different name?
Each name is its own design. Order one set per name, or contact us for a team quote.
Can you design my card?
Yes. Check “Design my card for me” when you order and our designer will build your card and send you a proof.
