Spot UV applies a clear, high gloss coating to selected parts of your design, such as a logo, a pattern or your name, while the rest of the card keeps a matte or soft touch lamination. The contrast between gloss and matte catches the light and invites people to tilt the card.
The card is a 16pt core laminated on both sides, about 18pt finished. Choose spot UV on the front or on both sides, and pick from three sizes including two slim formats.

How do I set up spot UV artwork?
Send your normal print file plus a second matching page or file where the areas to be glossed are 100 percent black and everything else is white. Our team checks it before production.
Is the spot UV raised?
The spot UV on this card is a smooth, flat gloss layer. It is felt as a change in texture, not a raised bump.
What file should I send?
Send a PDF at the finished size plus 0.125 in bleed on every side (3.75 x 2.25 in for a 3.5 x 2 in card), 300 dpi images, CMYK color, and text at least 0.125 in inside the trim. Our team checks every file before it goes to press and contacts you if anything needs fixing.
How long does it take?
Production time: 4-5 business days after file approval. Shipping time is added and depends on the method you choose at checkout.
